We’re Jen & Sim. We’re writers, endurance athletes and sustainable adventure advocates. We love being outdoors, challenging ourselves and exploring wild and beautiful places.

We’re the proud parents of two young children and love adventuring together. In 2015 we lived under canvas for a year – just the four of us, our bell tent and our wood burner – getting to know Britain’s National Parks and wild places. These days we live in a house but we still try to get outside and sleep under the stars as often as we can. We believe going on adventures shouldn’t cause harm to people, places or wildlife, so we aim to tread lightly during our explorations and encourage others to do the same.

When we’re not out having adventures we’re usually busy writing about them. Our aim is to inspire, inform and make exploring the great outdoors achievable and enjoyable for all. Our guide to the best off-road running in Britain, Wild Running, was published in 2014 and has been chosen as one of the top books for runners in the Running Awards 2017. Amazing Family Adventures with the National Trust was published in April 2017 and we have two more titles coming out over the next year. We’re routes editors and gear testers for Trail Running magazine, with whom we’ve worked to develop a Good Ethics Award. We’re monthly columnists for Outdoor Fitness & Adventure magazine and contributors to Trail and Country Walking magazines. We write freelance for a wide range of magazines, websites and newspapers.

Our passion for the great outdoors is central to everything we do and we’re delighted to be working with some fantastic national organisations, bringing amazing adventures to Britain’s special places. Some of our recent projects include:

We’re Ordnance Survey #GetOutside Champions and members of the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild.
