We’re Jen and Sim. We run, swim, climb, cycle and write about adventures in the great outdoors. We’re passionate about challenging ourselves and exploring wild and beautiful places, whether we’re camping as a family or running in the mountains.

Our aim is to inspire, inform and make getting outside and having amazing experiences achievable and enjoyable for all. We want to have a positive impact on the people and places we visit and encourage others to do the same.

We’ve written several books on running, walking, outdoor families and adventure sports. Our new book, The Adventurer’s Guide to Britain, is out now from Bloomsbury Publishing – visit our books page for details.  We’re routes editors and gear testers for Trail Running magazine; monthly columnists for Outdoor Fitness magazine; and contributors to Runner’s World, Trail and Country Walking magazines. We write freelance for a wide range of magazines, websites and newspapers.

We’re strong supporters of brands that make outdoor kit that’s both outstanding to use and good for people, animals and the planet. We have written several major features on ethical outdoor kit and helped develop Trail Running magazine’s Good Ethics Award. We work in testing, reviewing and product development with some fantastic brands who are making groundbreaking advances in ethically-produced products.

Our passion for the great outdoors is central to everything we do and we’re delighted to work with some brilliant national organisations, bringing amazing adventures to Britain’s special places. We’re proud to be Ordnance Survey GetOutside Champions. Some of our recent projects include:

We’re members of the Society of Authors and the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild.
